Beautiful photos deserve to last a lifetime. That's why we paired the best archival photo paper with the industry's leading ink for photo printing: our top-quality materials and techniques deliver stunning, custom acrylic prints rated to last over 100 years.
3D QUALITY THAT STANDS OUT
Your custom acrylic print is precisely mounted to glossy acrylic glass in your choice of thickness for a lustrous, polished 3D effect. Or, upgrade your image print to our matte finish for a modern glare-free look.
Acrylic amplifies your image’s colors and clarity, making it an ideal material to display art, photographs, and more. Our frame-grade acrylic is inspected for imperfections to meet the highest quality standards for your desired look. We use adhesives that resist yellowing, cracking, or failure to create top-quality prints that last over a 100 years indoors.
As proven experts in the industry, we are proud that our specially formulated combination of acrylic, adhesives, and ink consistently deliver the most optically clear and durable face mount available on the market today.
Acrylic Thickness Options: EIGHTH" | QUARTER" | HALF" | 1"
We take meticulous care to ensure the appearance of your photo print is nothing short of showstopping—but we also spend just as much time perfecting the parts of your print that you don’t see.
Why? Because it’s just as important.
Our HD Acrylic print packages come complete with a beautiful 1/8” black acrylic backer for the ultimate glass-like appearance. You can’t find this combination anywhere else in the business, and we promise you won’t be disappointed. The finished look is seamless and sophisticated.
Backer: EIGHTH" ACRYLIC, BLACK
No need to stress over the right way to display your prints: every acrylic print from Prolab Digital comes ready-to-hang with an included inset aluminum cleat. We design our hanging and printing hardware to withstand dimensional variances that happen over time.
What does this mean for you?
It means you’ll have a piece that resists flexing, twisting, and bowing—what we like to call “wall yoga”—that many of our competitors just can’t promise.
When building your acrylic print, you will choose the face thickness (1/8”, ¼” or ½”), acrylic type (clear glass or non-glare), type of photo paper (gloss or metallic), and type of hanging cleat (none, silver or black). These prints will come to you polished to perfection and ready to hang.
Acrylic (otherwise known as plexiglass, acrylic glass, or plex) is a type of shatter-resistant glass. Acrylic sheets are used for a wide range of applications, including:
When purchasing acrylic, it is important to understand the final use to determine the best type of acrylic. For example, extruded acrylic and cast acrylic may appear to be a similar finished product, but they are manufactured and used very differently. For acrylic face mounts, we only use the highest quality, frame-grade acrylics for the optical clarity, consistency, and durability that your artwork deserves. Using the best quality and best type of acrylic guarantees every print we create remains vibrant and flat on the wall with the desired glass-like appearance.
Acrylic prints come in a variety of styles, sizes, and types. The two most popular print styles are Face Mounted Acrylic Prints and UV Direct Acrylic Prints.
Custom face mounted acrylic prints are made by printing an image onto high quality, archival photo paper, which is then pressure bonded to the back of a clear acrylic sheet (choose from clear gloss or non-glare with additional thickness options such as 1/8”, ¼” or ½”). The acrylic sheet provides a sleek finished look and gives the photo added dimension and protection. The face mounted acrylic then can be finished with a variety of backers (such as dibond aluminum, acrylic, or sintra) and hanging hardware options. This makes for an extremely high quality, photorealistic print that looks amazing on any wall. Face mounted acrylic is the go-to for most photographers and their most discerning clients.
UV direct acrylic is a process in which a photo is printed directly on acrylic using advanced printing technologies. This style introduces the ability to create clear/blank areas in the print as well as adding white inks. While generally used for retail signage or wall art installations, UV direct is a great option for certain photos. UV direct offers durability (indoor and outdoor) as well as more flexibility in print styles. These prints are generally hung using stand-offs to float off the wall.

What kind of paper would you like your image to be on? Gloss photo paper offers beautiful, vibrant colors with a true white point, so colors are seen as they were intended. Prolab Digital uses the highest quality photo paper for optimal depth and brightest whites.
Metallic photo paper adds a subtle yet eye-catching iridescence to your photo. When you view the photo from different angles, the changing reflection of light emphasizes different parts of your composition, creating a beautiful and engaging interaction. White/blank areas will appear to have a silver tint, so colors will not appear as intended. Metallic paper is suggested for photos that have deep, saturated colors.
To prevent damage to your artwork, we recommend that you properly install, maintain, and care for your acrylic print. Avoid scratches—keep sharp or hard objects away from your print. For increased longevity, avoid installing your print in direct sunlight or in high-humidity areas like bathrooms. When cleaning your acrylic print, use a damp, soft cloth to gently wipe the surface. Use a very small amount water on the cloth when wiping down the edges to prevent water from seeping into the print. Acrylic prints, when maintained correctly, will be enjoyed for generations.
Acrylic prints do not require a frame. In fact, your acrylic print will look amazing without a frame just as much as it would with a frame. Many people choose an unframed acrylic for a modern or minimalist style as the picture seamlessly floats off the wall.
A panoramic refers to a wide, seamless print. They are perfect for displaying landscapes and cityscapes as well as other styles of art.
Cost depends on varying factors which include the sizing of the acrylic photo, acrylic type and thickness, and photo paper options.
Custom acrylic blocks are smaller acrylic prints—usually about 3”x3” square—that are typically set on a surface, like a table or desk, instead of hung on a wall. These prints will stand flat on any surface without a stand or cleat. Acrylic blocks are a popular choice that add elegance to your home or office decor. The recommended thickness for an acrylic photo block is 1" with an 1/8" acrylic backer. Contact us for assistance.
