File Setup Guidlines
Introduction
At PROLABdigital.com we are always striving to provide the most cost and speed effective solutions for our clients. We do, however, need to outline certain responsibilities for our clients, in order to keep this process streamlined. Orders received varying from these specifications are subject to delays and or additional charges depending on the work required to put them into a conforming condition. Please review all of the requirements before placing an order. If you have any questions, please send a e-mail message to orders@prolabdigital.com or call a service representative for assistance at 310-204-4608.
Accepted Media Formats
We accept CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and Flash Drives. We can archive files so please inform us and we will back it up. This is a chargeable item. However, please retain a complete copy for yourself just in case something damages our copy. Label your case and disk which will be returned with your order.
You may also transfer your files to us electronically via our FTP site:
Access FTP Server now
Host:208.57.235.222
User ID: prolab
Password: prolab
or e-mail smaller files as attachments to: orders@prolabdigital.com
If you decide to send your files to us electronically, please use a compression program such as Stuffit or WinZip to archive all of your files into one compressed folder. This helps to ensure that we can get all of your files intact, and can help in uploading time. Be sure to call or e-mail us after your files have finished transferring to confirm that we got them okay.
Required Files and Organization
Include ALL fonts used in your document. Only use PostScript fonts and supply both screen and printer fonts.
Also be sure to include all the files required to assemble your order. Do not include any unused files or fonts. With the files submit a document listing all of the files and fonts used on your order and any special handling instructions.
Supported Applications
The following is true for either MAC or PC based platforms.
Photoshop- Save as TIFF or EPS without any compression. At final size, image should be 300 DPI minimum and saved as CMYK color.
Illustrator- Save as EPS. Convert all fonts to curves, outlines or artwork.
Microsoft Office- We actually would prefer that our clients not use Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), because these programs often do not provide enough flexability to get exact results. If Microsoft products are your only option, however, we will accept the files. Please ensure that all of the images and fonts that you used within your document (including special characters) are included with your file submission. We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy with Microsoft Office printouts, but we will do our best.
Image Requirements
Images should be saved as CMYK values. Save as TIFF or EPS. All images are to be updated and linked.
Bleed
If your order will require a bleed, please provide at least 1/8" on all sides requiring the bleed. We cannot assume responsibility if information is lost in the trimming process if this is not taken into consideration.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR FILES
Please check that all of your files meet our above specifications. Additional charges may apply if we are required to "fix" any problems that arise.
